LoFric Handle
The slippery outer layer created when LoFric comes into contact with water is what makes it so easy and comfortable to insert. However, some patients find it useful to use a handle to insert the LoFric catheter.
The LoFric handle makes intermittent catheterisation easier for patients with reduced dexterity. It enables patients to hold the catheter firmly and direct it into the correct position. The LoFric handle fits catheter sizes Ch 6–18.
The LoFric handle is robustly designed, with a blue handle made of polypropylene plastic and a spring made from stainless steel. To maintain the scrupulous cleanliness required for intermittent catheterisation, the LoFric handle can be boiled in water or cleaned in an alcohol-based solution.
LoFric Mirror
Successful intermittent catheterisation depends on being able to insert the catheter smoothly into the urethra. For females, locating the urethra may not always be easy. Although many patients do learn to find the urethra reliably by ‘feel’, others find it more convenient to use a mirror. The LoFric mirror is specially designed for this purpose. The angle of the mirror is adjustable which makes it as easier to see the urethral opening.
The LoFric mirror can be folded away and slipped discreetly into a handbag or pocket, ready for use.
